Role overview
This remote healthcare operations role supports a partner organization that handles the application process and hiring steps directly. The position is based in the United States and focuses on keeping patient care processes moving efficiently, accurately, and with minimal delay. You will work across providers, payers, pharmacies, staffing agencies, and internal clinical teams to coordinate administrative tasks that help patients access treatment.
The job is well suited to someone who enjoys structured workflows, careful documentation, and process improvement in a fast-moving healthcare setting. A strong sense of organization and attention to detail are essential, as the work has a direct impact on patient access to care.
Key accountabilities
- Check member eligibility and insurance coverage, including benefits, authorization needs, and out-of-pocket cost details, and keep records updated throughout the care process.
- Handle prior authorization submissions, renewals, and extensions by preparing paperwork, monitoring status updates, following up with payers and pharmacy partners, and escalating anything that may slow treatment.
- Collect medical orders, referrals, clinical records, and provider approvals, then route them correctly while keeping all documentation aligned with internal rules and HIPAA requirements.
- Coordinate staffing schedules for clinical support and arrange medication shipments with outside partners so treatments arrive as planned.
- Respond professionally to inbound questions from providers, pharmacy partners, and members, document each interaction, triage requests, and make sure action items are completed on time.
- Build, document, and refine operational procedures, turning manual admin work into repeatable systems that can scale with company growth.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare administration or operations, including direct work with prior authorizations, insurance verification, or eligibility review.
- Solid understanding of payer portals, authorization processes, appeals, and healthcare back-office procedures.
- Hands-on experience with CRM tools, EHR systems, document management platforms, and fax workflows in a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of detailed administrative tasks while staying highly accurate and organized.
- Experience working with provider offices, insurers, pharmacy partners, staffing agencies, and internal cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, scheduling, and problem-solving skills, plus the ability to work independently in a fully remote role during Central Time business hours.
- Preferred background includes clinical certifications such as CMA, RMA, CPhT, or LPN, experience in specialty or home infusion, rare disease programs, healthcare startups, or fluency in Spanish.
Benefits
- Competitive pay.
- Fully remote work arrangement.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) retirement savings plan.
- Opportunity to help design and improve operational processes in a rapidly expanding healthcare company.
- Work that contributes directly to helping patients access life-changing treatments.
- Collaborative, mission-focused environment centered on innovation and operational excellence.
