Role Overview

We are seeking a Care Assistant to join our team at Belong Wigan. In this role, you will collaborate with fellow team members to support the daily operation of the Household. Your focus will be on upholding high standards of care and service for residents, their families, visitors, and colleagues. You will provide a broad range of personal and practical care services designed to enrich the lives of those in your care.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, empathetic, and person-centered care to elderly residents
• Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating self-motivation, resilience, and strong organizational skills
• Adapt flexibly to the needs of both residents and the Household, especially during periods of high demand
• Assist residents with personal care, daily activities, and provide companionship
• Remain attentive to residents’ health and wellbeing needs
• Respect the privacy and dignity of all residents
• Collaborate with residents and their families to tailor individualized care plans
• Support mealtimes and ensure safe movement of residents
• Accurately maintain records for each resident

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Dedication to delivering high-quality care with respect and dignity
• Previous experience in an elderly care environment preferred
• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team
• Reliability and composure under pressure; flexibility to meet dynamic care needs

Compensation and Shift Details

The position offers an hourly wage of £13.45. Shifts are scheduled between 8am to 3pm and 3pm to 10pm, requiring flexibility to cover both time slots as needed.
