About the Role
This opportunity is offered through a partner company seeking a Buyer based in the United States. This position is ideal for early-career procurement professionals interested in gaining hands-on experience in purchasing, supplier management, contract administration, and commercial negotiation.
You will play a key role in driving efficient purchasing processes by collaborating with internal departments and external vendors. The role offers valuable exposure to sourcing activities, contract lifecycle management, supplier relationship building, and operational enhancements.
Working closely with teams from Finance, Legal, Operations, IT, HR, and other functions, you will support strategic procurement initiatives to improve efficiency and strengthen vendor partnerships.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, serving as the main contact for vendor inquiries, contract renewals, and procurement requests.
- Collaborate with internal teams across Finance, Legal, IT, HR, Marketing, and Operations on procurement projects and initiatives.
- Assist in sourcing, selecting suppliers, managing contract renewals, and overseeing purchasing operations.
- Support commercial negotiations including discussions on pricing, payment terms, and other contractual aspects.
- Review contract provisions to identify risks and support contract amendments ensuring compliance with procurement and legal policies.
- Coordinate contract review, approval, and execution workflows involving relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of suppliers, contracts, and procurement activities using contract lifecycle management systems.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approval protocols, and contract requirements.
- Contribute to spend analysis, reporting, and ongoing process improvements for procurement optimization.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, vendor management, or contract administration.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and follow-through.
- Aptitude for juggling multiple priorities and coordinating projects in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience supporting full-cycle contract processes including supplier engagement, contract review, approvals, and execution.
- Good judgment for assessing commercial terms and identifying issues for escalation.
- Familiarity with AI-enhanced tools and technology to improve productivity, contract analysis, supplier research, and procurement results.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
- Preferred knowledge of procurement systems, ERP platforms, or contract lifecycle management (CLM) solutions, such as Gatekeeper or similar tools.
- A strong desire to develop skills in contract management, strategic sourcing, and commercial negotiation.
