This position entails cultivating new client relationships, establishing strategic partnerships, and broadening our market footprint within Australia and the wider APAC region.
The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of the Corporate, Professional Services, Private Wealth, and Institutional sectors and the acumen to pinpoint opportunities in line with Hawksford’s risk parameters and service strengths. A pre-existing network among intermediaries like law firms, accounting firms, corporate advisors, private equity firms, financial institutions, and industry groups is crucial for driving new business across Hawksford’s offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain a robust network to identify, qualify, and convert new business leads.
- Lead commercial negotiation processes and secure deals, working collaboratively with internal teams.
- Represent Hawksford at conferences, networking gatherings, and business forums, actively engaging potential and current clients while aiding marketing initiatives and presentations.
- Coordinate with the Risk Committee to assess new deals, ensuring risk assessments and commercial terms are properly aligned.
- Identify and promote new service opportunities, partnering with senior leaders to define target markets and develop client-centric solutions.
- Maintain strong referral relationships with law firms, accountants, tax advisors, corporate finance professionals, and relevant business associations.
- Leverage Hawksford’s global client and intermediary network to uncover opportunities across Australia and APAC.
- Execute focused business development strategies to strengthen vital relationships and foster sustainable revenue growth.
- Forge and oversee referral partnerships that facilitate mutually beneficial business development goals.
- Keep precise and current records in Hawksford’s CRM system, ensuring a transparent and active pipeline of prospects, intermediaries, and clients.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from potential clients and intermediaries, coordinating internally to provide timely follow-up.
- Support client onboarding processes into Hawksford’s compliance systems, working closely with compliance and operations teams for seamless client experiences.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive experience (typically over six years) in business development, sales, or relationship management within corporate services, professional services, financial services, or related sectors.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language skills are considered beneficial.
- Proven success in driving new business and meeting sales objectives within corporate or professional services environments.
- Established network of intermediaries including law firms, accounting firms, private wealth advisors, corporate advisors, financial institutions, and industry associations across Australia and APAC.
- Strong ability to manage and coordinate complex, multi-jurisdictional opportunities that involve multiple service lines and stakeholders.
- Commercially savvy, entrepreneurial, self-driven, highly organized, with meticulous attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Consultative and solution-oriented sales approach with the capacity to tailor services to client needs.
- Proficient in stakeholder management and relationship-building, skilled in influencing and engaging senior decision-makers.
- Relevant professional credentials, business degrees, or industry certifications are advantageous.
- Willingness and capability to travel as needed within Australia and the APAC region to support business development and client relationship efforts.
