Role Overview
The Business Development & Alliance Manager is tasked with spearheading the creation of business partnerships, managing partner relationships, and implementing strategies aimed at optimizing revenue and value through in-licensing and product acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and evaluation of prospective in-licensing products and opportunities to satisfy both immediate and long-term business goals.
- Identify opportunities for business expansion, including establishing new partnerships and entering new markets.
- Engage with key decision-makers at targeted organizations to build and maintain enduring relationships that facilitate deal execution.
- Collaborate with management to define criteria for evaluating product opportunities aligned with organizational objectives.
- Assist management in crafting a business development plan that supports short- and long-term ambitions.
- Develop strategic analyses based on market information, medical and clinical data, product profiles, clinical indications, patents, and forecast potential product opportunities.
- Perform detailed research on potential products and competitors, providing insightful analyses.
- Participate collaboratively in the Due Diligence Team to assess all products and opportunities in line with company standards.
- Prepare business cases and plans to guide 'Go/No-Go' decisions.
- Support negotiation processes and collaborate with legal teams to finalize commercial agreements for completed deals.
- Provide timely, precise reporting on pipeline status, future plans, and business development activities by country.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transitions from product research through to launch readiness.
- Maintain and update a Deal Flow database.
- Oversee alliance and deal management functions.
- Foster and expand relationships with existing partners to enhance revenue streams and cooperative opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences is mandatory.
- Minimum five years of relevant pharmaceutical experience in marketing, medical affairs, or business development.
- A solid understanding of the Canadian pharmaceutical market, particularly pricing, reimbursement, sales, and marketing.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including modeling and analysis capabilities.
- Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint to create professional presentations.
- Exceptional stakeholder relationship management skills to nurture partnerships with diverse groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in team environments.
- Superior organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and working effectively under pressure with urgency.
- Robust project management capabilities supporting concurrent project execution.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong commercial insight.
