Role Overview
This contract position based in Toronto focuses on supporting healthcare-related projects with adherence to PHIPA legislation. The Business Analyst will interpret and apply the principles of PHIPA concerning personal health information management, ensuring compliance with consent, collection, use, disclosure, and safeguarding requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of PHIPA principles such as consent, collection, use, disclosure, and safeguards regarding personal health information (approximately 10% of responsibilities).
- Maintain a solid grasp of the duties of health information custodians and their agents under PHIPA regulations, ensuring proper role-based compliance (about 40%).
- Lead requirements gathering efforts, craft detailed documentation including presentations and briefing notes, and facilitate productive stakeholder engagement sessions (around 25%).
- Utilize analytical thinking, effective problem-solving, decision-making, and strong verbal and written communication to enhance collaboration and negotiation during stakeholder interactions.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Experience working with healthcare data privacy standards, particularly PHIPA.
- Proven capability in requirements elicitation and documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management abilities combined with interpersonal and negotiation expertise.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
