Overview
Join the Queensland Government's National Fire Ant Eradication Program, a dedicated initiative committed to eradicating one of Australia's most invasive pests, the fire ant. This role offers the chance to contribute to protecting communities, wildlife, and industries across Queensland by supporting governance, reporting, and business process improvement.
Role Purpose
This Business Analyst position centers on enhancing business processes, improving reporting structures, and fostering stakeholder engagement rather than software development. You will collaborate with leaders across various functions to understand operations and identify opportunities to drive more effective and consistent business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders involved in the program.
- Conduct detailed analysis, mapping, and documentation of current and proposed business processes.
- Convert complex organizational requirements into straightforward, actionable recommendations.
- Evaluate information flows and enhance reporting mechanisms to support data-driven decision-making and performance tracking.
- Support governance, compliance, risk management, and assurance activities through comprehensive process analysis and documentation.
- Lead workshops and consultative sessions to identify challenges and co-develop practical solutions.
- Develop robust, consistent processes that increase operational effectiveness and alleviate reliance on individual knowledge holders.
- Drive continuous enhancements in business operations, reporting frameworks, and organizational capabilities.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in analyzing, mapping, and optimizing business processes in complex operational settings.
- Exceptional skills in stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and communication.
- Strong facilitation and documentation abilities with a knack for simplifying complex information.
- Skilled in data analysis, report creation, and extracting meaningful business insights.
- Solid understanding of governance, assurance, risk, compliance, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, collaborate with multiple teams, and consistently deliver quality results.
- A solution-driven mindset with an emphasis on inquiry and identifying opportunities for improvement.
