Job description
About the Company
Alpine Business Consulting partners with organizations experiencing challenges with their reporting systems, especially those who have invested heavily in planning tools yet still face unreliable data and slow month-end processes. Our consultants specialize in creating a definitive, trusted data source that finance teams can rely on daily. We emphasize practical configuration and comprehensive documentation to empower client independence post-engagement.
Role Overview
Our partner, a Berlin-based firm currently revamping their internal reporting framework, seeks a Business Analyst Intern. This fully remote role involves collaborating closely with senior consultants to ensure the project delivers consistent and predictable outcomes while working from your own location and maintaining communication through digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Support mapping of existing financial processes to pinpoint data flow issues.
- Assist in cleansing and organizing large datasets to enable accurate migration into new reporting systems.
- Develop and maintain configuration guides detailing system setup for client use.
- Prepare clear, user-friendly documentation to help end users navigate new dashboards independently.
- Participate in testing activities to confirm report data accuracy against source figures.
- Help prepare content for weekly progress meetings with the Berlin-based partner.
- Organize project documentation and version control to ensure a transparent audit trail.
Candidate Profile
- Organized individual with an interest in understanding data flow within business contexts.
- Institutional knowledge of basic business or finance principles, typically acquired through academic study or recent degree.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including use of fundamental formulas and data table management.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple language.
- Detail-oriented approach, especially in verifying numerical data for correctness.
- Dependable internet connectivity and effective self-management capabilities when working remotely.
- Proactive in seeking clarification when processes are unclear rather than making assumptions.
- Fluent English proficiency as all documentation and communication is in English.
Benefits and Opportunities
- Experience learning from expert consultants managing complex, high-level projects.
- Paid internship with competitive compensation reflecting market standards and experience level.
- Flexibility to work remotely, avoiding commute times while focusing on meaningful work.
- Exposure to enterprise-grade software tools and consulting methodologies emphasizing fixed pricing and transparency.
- Gain hands-on knowledge of effective documentation and configuration that delivers durable client solutions.
- Consistent workload with clearly defined expectations and supportive team engagement.
- Contribute to creating a robust reporting system that enhances long-term decision making for the client.
