Role Overview

We are looking for an energetic Business Analyst to join our Operations & AI team. This role involves utilizing advanced AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to automate manual workflows within a dynamic hedge fund setting. Collaborating closely with Operations, Trade Support, and Technology teams, the candidate will identify manual processes ripe for AI-driven enhancements and develop, pilot, and manage these solutions. This position offers the chance to apply AI practically to boost efficiency and mitigate risks throughout the trade lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations, Trade Support, and Technology teams to document current workflows and discover automation opportunities with AI.
• Develop, implement, and sustain lightweight automation scripts using Python and SQL that integrate AI tools with internal data and systems.
• Prototype and test new AI-enabled processes, then create documentation and transfer ownership for enterprise-wide deployment.
• Create and manage SQL queries to extract, clean, and validate data supporting AI projects.
• Refine prompt design and conduct iterative testing to optimize AI output quality and dependability.
• Monitor AI-based tools and intervene when issues arise, escalating as necessary.
• Examine operational steps across trade lifecycle functions, including reconciliations, settlements, confirmations, corporate actions, and reporting.
• Gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions while working with Technology to ensure smooth implementation.
• Assist in comprehensive testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment of new operational tools.
• Evaluate AI solution effectiveness with respect to operational KPIs, identify associated risks, and suggest control measures.
• Track and communicate AI implementation progress to all relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare thorough documentation including processes, rationales, and playbooks for replicability and maintenance.
• Keep abreast of emerging AI features and vendor updates related to operational applications.

Required Qualifications

• Between 1 and 5 years' experience in a hedge fund, asset management, or related financial operations environment.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python programming.
• Practical experience with AI tools like Claude and/or ChatGPT in work-related tasks such as prompt engineering and process automation.
• Strong attention to detail with an ability to handle sensitive financial and operational data responsibly.
• Excellent communication skills capable of addressing both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-driven, capable of independently spotting issues and suggesting solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative, technical, or business fields is preferred but not mandatory.
• Preferred experience includes API interaction, automation frameworks, or scripting data pipelines.
• Familiarity with fund operations including reconciliation, trade support, and reporting is an advantage.
• Experience using modern large language models like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or GitHub Copilot to enhance business processes is a plus.
