With teams across multiple markets and a collaborative, people-first approach, the company works with clients in a range of industries to deliver technology solutions that help businesses grow.

Role Overview

This Business Analyst position is focused on insurance change and product work across a portfolio of initiatives. The role sits between business and technology teams and requires a strong grasp of the insurance value chain, including Property & Casualty, claims, billing, and policy administration. The position is based in Dublin, Ireland, with a hybrid work pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

What You Will Do

  • Work with stakeholders in underwriting, claims, finance, billing, compliance, and operations to understand business goals, current processes, and change needs.
  • Convert business needs into precise documentation such as BRDs, functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Run workshops, interviews, and working sessions to gather and confirm requirements with subject matter experts.
  • Create and keep up-to-date detailed process maps across Levels 1 to 4 to support process improvement, system rollouts, and operational change in P&C, claims, billing, and policy administration.
  • Maintain requirements traceability matrices so business needs are fully tracked through delivery and testing.
  • Partner with development and QA teams to clarify user stories and acceptance criteria, and take part in sprint ceremonies when needed.
  • Help build business cases, including cost-benefit analysis and options appraisal, in line with investment governance.
  • Work with project and test managers to define use cases, UAT criteria, and testing support.
  • Support target operating model and capability matrix development and upkeep.
  • Make sure change activity aligns with the relevant regulatory framework, including CBI, Solvency II, GDPR as applied in Irish law, IDD, and the Consumer Protection Code.
  • Serve as a knowledge resource in the BA community by sharing good practice, contributing expertise, and supporting junior colleagues.
  • Keep documentation structured and complete throughout the project lifecycle to support governance and audit needs.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance sector, including knowledge of the Dublin market.
  • Practical exposure to Property & Casualty insurance, including product structure, underwriting, and the full policy lifecycle.
  • Hands-on involvement in claims transformation or improvement work, such as FNOL, claims handling, reserving, and settlement flows.
  • Working understanding of insurance billing, including premium invoicing, payment reconciliation, instalment plans, and broker or agent settlement.
  • Good knowledge of policy administration systems and how they fit into the insurance operating model, such as Guidewire Policy Centre, Claims Centre, Billing Centre, Majesco, TIA, or similar systems used in the Irish or European market.
  • Ability to produce strong business requirements documents, functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Experience with both Agile delivery methods such as Scrum or Kanban and traditional Waterfall approaches.
  • Experience building and managing requirements traceability matrices.
  • Competence in process mapping across Levels 1 to 4, including process taxonomy work.
  • Ability to create entity relationship diagrams and data flow documentation.
  • Working knowledge of strategic analysis frameworks such as SWOT, Porter’s Five Forces, and the Balanced Scorecard.
  • Familiarity with the Dublin regulatory environment, including CBI, Solvency II, GDPR as enacted in Irish law, IDD, and the Consumer Protection Code.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior leadership and board-level audiences.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving ability with a practical, delivery-oriented mindset.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience acting in a Product Owner-like capacity in an Agile setting.
  • Exposure to target operating model design and capability matrix development.
  • Professional certifications such as BCS Business Analysis Diploma, IIBA CBAP or CCBA, CIP, or similar qualifications.
  • Understanding of the Irish insurance market structure, including the Central Bank of Ireland and EU passporting frameworks.
  • Knowledge of reinsurance, specialty lines, or complex commercial P&C insurance.
  • Experience working with or alongside compliance, risk, or actuarial teams.

Personal Attributes

  • A credible and professional person who builds strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and delivery partners.
  • Curious by nature and motivated to understand the reasons behind business needs and turn them into practical solutions.
  • Well organised and able to work to deadlines while handling several workstreams at once without losing detail.
  • Comfortable working in changing and fast-moving environments, and able to adjust communication and working style for different audiences.
  • A collaborative teammate who brings fresh ideas and confidence to discuss alternatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator who can adapt messaging for both technical and non-technical people.
  • Resilient, solution-focused, and capable of bringing clarity to ambiguous situations.
