Role Overview

The Bridge Engineer will serve as the crucial liaison between Japanese OEM clients and TTMI's internal development teams. This position requires translating customer requirements into precise, actionable engineering tasks, synchronizing quality and timeline expectations, and reducing communication barriers typical in cross-border projects. The role spans engagement with core platform systems for connected services, data platforms, mobile apps, and full-stack OEM mobility solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehend and organize OEM customer requirements effectively, delivering them clearly to the TTMI engineering team.
• Facilitate alignment around requirements quality, delivery schedules, and mutual understanding between both parties.
• Reduce communication overhead and friction between clients and TTMI.
• Define and align requirements and technical specifications.
• Document the scope and details of development tasks accurately.
• Assist in reviewing engineering deliverables to ensure client expectations are met.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in software development or project management roles, ideally with experience as a Project Manager or Project Leader.
• Familiarity with subcontracting and multi-tier outsourcing arrangements.
• Basic knowledge of cloud computing concepts, including AWS architecture and API integration.
• Understanding of mobility and connected vehicle domains.
• Strong technical documentation capabilities across diverse materials.
• Skills in structuring and organizing complex technical requirements.
• Core project management competencies.
• Proficiency in business-level Japanese for client interactions and English for internal communications, essential for bridging multicultural teams.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English, capable of explaining technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working as a bridge engineer or in a technical coordination capacity liaising between clients and developers.
• Background working with automotive OEMs or connected-vehicle/telematics projects.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and API system integration.
