About the Role

Join Aruma as a Behaviour Support Practitioner and contribute meaningfully to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. This role involves designing and executing positive behaviour support plans that promote independence, dignity, and social inclusion. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, work closely with individuals and their support networks, and provide training to ensure consistent application of behaviour strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement tailored behaviour support plans based on evidence and individual needs.
  • Engage with individuals, families, caregivers, and professionals to deliver comprehensive person-centred assistance.
  • Train and support staff to apply behaviour support techniques effectively and consistently.
  • Continuously evaluate and modify plans reflecting clients' progress and changing requirements.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and ensure respectful, empathetic treatment in all interactions.

Candidate Profile

  • Genuine passion for positively impacting lives of people with disabilities.
  • Academic background in psychology, social work, or equivalent related disciplines.
  • Knowledgeable in positive behaviour support frameworks and principles.
  • Ability to provide or complete self-assessment/reflection documentation relevant to NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner requirements, including supporting evidence like behaviour management or safety plans.
  • Compassionate, solution-oriented, and able to thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments.
  • Experience managing complex behaviours and maintaining composure under challenging circumstances.
  • Strong communicator with ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
