Assistant Site Director - Archaeological Projects

About the Role

Archaeological Management Solutions (AMS) Group Limited is seeking an Assistant Site Director to join their team at Fahy’s Rd, Drimna, Kilrush, Co. Clare, Ireland (V15 C780). This position entails active involvement in multiple archaeological field projects at designated sites, providing essential support in archaeological investigations and contributing to the documentation and interpretation of discoveries to enhance the understanding of historical human societies and cultural heritage.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in archaeological fieldwork across various project locations.
• Assist in conducting archaeological investigations responsibly and efficiently.
• Support the systematic recording, detailed analysis, and interpretation of artefacts and data found during excavations.
• Contribute to post-excavation processes including analysis and the preparation and critical review of technical reports.
• Ensure that all work complies with professional standards, statutory regulations, and health and safety requirements.
• Assist with project planning and coordination of field activities to maintain operational efficiency.
• Maintain effective communication with clients and relevant authorities to ensure project alignment.
• Manage project documentation accurately on SharePoint following AMS protocols.
• Help disseminate archaeological research and findings to appropriate audiences.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a relevant degree in archaeology or an equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in archaeological fieldwork or a comparable position.
• Valid driving license for site mobility and travel.

Terms and Conditions

• Fixed annual salary of €41,600.
• Standard working hours of 40 per week.
• Employment located onsite at Kilrush, County Clare, Ireland.
