About the Role

Are you passionate about compelling radio and crafting content that sparks conversation? ZM is seeking a seasoned broadcaster to join as Assistant Content Director. Collaborating closely with the Content Director, you'll play a pivotal role in steering one of New Zealand's foremost entertainment brands. Your involvement will span content strategy, talent development, and daily station operations to ensure ZM remains engaging, contemporary, and influential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily radio station operations alongside the Content Director.
  • Lead planning and aircheck sessions regularly with on-air talent to guide and develop their performance.
  • Oversee brand imaging processes, ensuring promotional rotations and brand consistency.
  • Step into the Content Director role during absences, maintaining leadership and operational control.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call technical and presentation support for the station.
  • Manage and master essential production equipment and software platforms including Powergold, NexGen, and Zetta; adapt to emerging media technologies.
  • Utilize audience insights, data, and research to guide programming and content strategy with an audience-focused perspective.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships across NZME teams, including other radio stations, iHeart, Technology, Commercial Integration, and Sales departments.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial Integration to flawlessly execute sponsorships and client promotions.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills for engaging executives, on-air talent, and external partners.
