Position Overview
The Asset Management Analyst will engage deeply with multiple sectors of hospitality and real estate, collaborating with asset management, investments, corporate finance, and sustainability groups. This role offers significant career development opportunities, project ownership, and interaction with senior leadership as well as external partners including operators, brands, brokers, and private equity firms. Based in the Philadelphia office, this onsite position requires occasional U.S. travel and reports to the Senior Vice President of Asset Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Asset Management Team to enhance hotel portfolio performance, optimize asset value, and meet investment goals, also aiding Acquisitions and Design & Construction as needed.
- Collaborate with hotel executives and regional leaders to evaluate performance results, review business plans, and recommend revenue growth and cost-saving strategies.
- Conduct detailed financial analyses using Excel, including income statement evaluation, benchmarking, and performance assessment.
- Develop financial models, calculate ROI, and prepare presentation materials for value creation proposals.
- Gather and maintain market data covering demographics, supply, and demand factors impacting hotel markets and submarkets.
- Perform market research for existing urban markets and potential new strategic locations to understand supply-demand dynamics.
- Assist the Investment Team with hotel acquisition underwriting and data collection for possible asset dispositions.
- Prepare comprehensive materials for senior executive briefings and periodic board meetings, such as slide decks on industry trends, portfolio updates, investment pipeline, and corporate strategies.
- Participate in on-site property assessments and market tours as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, hospitality, or related fields.
- 0 to 3 years of pertinent experience in hospitality operations, asset management, real estate, or consulting.
- Strong enthusiasm for the travel and lodging industry along with an understanding of investment fundamentals; experience in lodging finance preferred.
- Proficient in analyzing financial statements including STR reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint for financial modeling and presentations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with keen attention to detail, organizational aptitude, and self-motivation to meet deadlines.
- Capacity to handle extended periods of sitting, lift items up to 10 pounds, and perform standard physical tasks.
