Role Overview
This position involves working as a mobile Area Relief Officer across multiple court and tribunal sites within a specified region. The role requires adaptability to varying shift patterns based on site needs and emphasizes maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and service users. The working schedule is 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, without any night shifts. Assignments occur within a set distance from the primary base, with flexibility to cover nearby locations as operational demands dictate.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide versatile security support at various locations within the assigned area.
- Deliver a professional and friendly customer service experience to all court attendees.
- Manage building access points by enforcing security protocols rigorously.
- Utilize security apparatus such as CCTV systems, x-ray scanners, and handheld metal detectors correctly.
- Carry out search procedures in accordance with site-specific guidelines.
- Conduct patrols of both public and restricted zones while maintaining constant communication with control centers.
- React swiftly and efficiently to alarms, incidents, or any security-related concerns.
- Keep thorough and accurate documentation of all incidents and security activities.
- Ensure the secure and safe movement of people within the premises.
- Maintain the utmost professionalism and adhere to all compliance standards continuously.
Candidate Requirements
- Right to work in the UK and successful clearance through enhanced DBS and BS7858 security vetting.
- Possession of a valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence along with relevant security work experience.
- Possession of a full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle is required.
- Excellent communication and strong customer service orientation.
- Dependable, professional disposition with attention to detail.
- Capability to work across multiple venues, adjusting priorities as necessary.
- Sound knowledge of security policies and health and safety procedures.
- Ability to stay composed and handle challenging situations effectively.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience in working within public sector or regulatory settings.
- Familiarity with security technologies including CCTV and screening devices.
