Job description
Role Overview
The Area Director position can be filled on a full-time or part-time exempt basis and involves self-sourcing financial support for their own role as well as wider ministry activities within their designated region.
Ministerial Engagement
- Build and nurture connections with golfers to share the Christian gospel and message of Jesus Christ's kingdom.
- Coordinate regular meetings with small groups known as Links Fellowships or individual participants for the purpose of Bible study and spiritual mentoring.
- Provide pastoral care including conducting Bible studies, counseling guidance, and officiating ceremonies such as weddings and funerals.
Oversight of Links Fellowships
- Encourage Christian golfers to initiate new Links Fellowships locally around golf clubs.
- Respond to inquiries about starting Links Fellowships and support interested parties in launching these groups.
- Organize annual gatherings for Fellowship leaders in the area to promote fellowship and training, potentially aligned with region-wide meetings.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Recruit and educate area representatives who monitor multiple Links Fellowships within smaller subregions.
- Provide ongoing training and support for area representatives both on a one-on-one and group basis.
- Meet twice yearly with advisory teams to evaluate area progress, align ministry vision, and brainstorm improvements.
Ministry Development and Support
- Cultivate relationships with committed Christian supporters both for spiritual encouragement and financial backing.
- Maintain communication with donors via newsletters or emails to share ministry updates and facilitate giving opportunities.
- Regularly consult with an advisory team to guide ministry strategy, budget creation, and fundraising efforts.
Organizational Participation
- Participate in national staff meetings and calls organized by Links Players leadership, including annual vision and human resources discussions.
