About the Apprenticeship

We invite you to start an apprenticeship as a Technical Product Designer (m/f/d) at our company headquarters in Augsburg beginning September 1, 2027. In this role, you will ensure that every machine component perfectly fits and create accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings. This is ideal for candidates with strong spatial awareness who are passionate about designing and documenting machinery and industrial equipment.

Hosokawa Alpine is an internationally recognized special machine manufacturing firm with over 120 years of industry experience, offering cutting-edge solutions in mechanical process engineering and film extrusion. With around 800 employees, we focus on resource-efficient, sustainable German engineering while maintaining a global footprint, flat structures, swift decisions, long-lasting partnerships, and diverse special mechanical engineering projects.

Training and Responsibilities

  • Develop skills in creating and interpreting technical drawings and 2D/3D visualizations.
  • Contribute to continuous enhancement of machinery quality and new part development.
  • Gain hands-on experience with 2D and 3D CAD software under expert guidance.
  • Participate fully in vocational school alongside practical training.
  • Perform tasks such as managing technical documentation, designing machine components with software tools, learning metalworking basics, and assisting in machine development.

The apprenticeship duration is typically 3.5 years, with a possibility to reduce to 3 years for excellent performers.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum intermediate school leaving certificate with strong marks in math and physics.
  • Excellent spatial imagination combined with sound analytical and technical skills.
  • Basic English comprehension to navigate technical terminology and international collaboration.
  • Careful and responsible approach to assigned duties.

What We Provide

  • Excellent training facilities equipped with modern resources and skilled instructors.
  • Work schedule of 35 hours per week supporting a healthy work-life balance.
  • Competitive apprentice remuneration aligned with metal and electrical collective agreements.
  • Comprehensive exam preparation assistance including courses, past exams, and close supervision.
  • A collaborative and supportive workplace culture.
  • Opportunities to connect with a broad team of apprentices and dual students.
  • Provision and laundering of work attire.
  • On-site canteen offering fresh and seasonal meals.
