About the Role
We are seeking an Analyst to join our EMEA Project Finance group, where you will contribute to the origination and execution of complex financing transactions within the Power, Utilities, and Renewable Energy sectors. Our team offers a comprehensive range of structured finance solutions like limited recourse project financings, acquisition and portfolio financings, structured asset financings, subordinated debt, equity investments, and advisory services. Working collaboratively on deal teams, you will develop your technical, analytical, and client engagement skills through exposure to the full transaction process. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional passionate about infrastructure and project finance to contribute to prominent transactions across the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior colleagues in originating and executing new financing opportunities in Power, Utilities, and Renewables.
- Conduct financial analysis, valuation exercises, and risk assessments to determine project feasibility and structure transactions.
- Construct, maintain, and scrutinize detailed financial models that inform financing choices.
- Develop marketing presentations, client-facing documents, credit applications, and reports for investment committees.
- Examine project materials such as commercial contracts, term sheets, and financing frameworks.
- Support negotiation efforts, due diligence procedures, documentation processes, and financial closing activities.
- Coordinate financial modeling projects across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform research on sectors, markets, and companies to spot trends and opportunities.
- Participate in client meetings and aid in managing relationships.
- Collaborate closely with product, legal, risk, and other departments to ensure transaction success.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus.
- Between 1 to 2 years of applicable work experience, including internships, in Project Finance, Infrastructure Finance, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, or similar fields.
- Practical knowledge of financial modeling and cash flow analysis is essential.
- Familiarity with project finance principles and how risks are allocated.
- Prior experience aiding complex financing deals is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in financial modelling and analytical reasoning.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in financial modeling is advantageous.
- Excellent numerical aptitude, research capabilities, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and oral.
- Highly proactive with eagerness to learn.
- Meticulous attention to detail paired with strong analytical skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines.
- The ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and perform under pressure.
- A confident and cooperative team member who can engage with stakeholders at various levels.
