About Tabby and the Role
Tabby is a fintech company operating across the GCC, offering financial products to millions of users. Besides core services, Tabby is developing internal platforms focused on AI agents and large language model (LLM)-based automation. The AI Agents Platform team creates systems that help various teams build and manage AI agents automating workflows including customer service, operations, fraud detection, data validation, and internal tools.
This internship is not merely educational but involves engineering work with meaningful production impact. Interns contribute to live AI agent systems in a fast-evolving, ambiguous environment requiring thinking in systems and workflows rather than isolated tasks.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI agents and automation workflows using internal no-code and low-code tools
- Set up agent workflows, orchestration logic, and tool integrations
- Link agents with internal systems via APIs and other tools
- Assist in architecting agent designs and workflows for efficiency and scalability
- Test, assess, and iteratively improve agent behavior and quality
- Analyze datasets and evaluation metrics to enhance agent performance
- Create detailed documentation on agent logic, workflows, and best practices
- Collaborate closely with platform engineers, product managers, and internal users
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Strong logical reasoning and systems thinking abilities
- Skill in decomposing complex human workflows into structured automated steps
- Basic knowledge of web services, API interactions, and data formats like JSON
- Experience with no-code or low-code automation platforms
- Understanding of edge cases, failure modes, and correctness in systems
- Fluency in English sufficient for thorough documentation and team communication
- Experience or interest in LLMs, AI agents, and automation technologies
- Programming experience, particularly with Python
- Background in data science or machine learning related fields
- Familiarity with prompt design, agent orchestration, and evaluation metrics
- Strong curiosity about AI system behaviors and limitations
- Advanced understanding of LLMs, agent frameworks, or prompt engineering is a plus
- Prior professional experience in AI, automation, or platform engineering considered valuable
Additional Information
- This internship is self-funded by Tabby and primarily targets Saudi nationals (Saudi passport holders)
- The role expects full-time engagement equivalent to a full working day, though some schedule flexibility may be provided for students' academic requirements
- Though location is primarily Riyadh office-based, remote options exist for candidates currently outside Saudi Arabia
- This is a paid internship offering full integration within a distributed engineering team
- Successful interns may progress to junior roles in AI automation, no-code engineering, or platform development based on performance
- The internship is intentionally rigorous to foster rapid professional growth in AI agent and automation engineering
