African American Constituency Manager

About the Role

Friends for Kathy Hochul is seeking a dedicated African American Constituency Manager to join the campaign for New York State's first female Governor, Kathy Hochul. This full-time position will lead the outreach and organizing efforts within the African American community across the Downstate Region, including New York City, Long Island, and Hudson Valley.

Responsibilities

• Build and sustain strong connections with elected officials, community advocates, and leaders throughout the region.
• Assist the Coalitions Director in creating and managing the African American Advisory Council for the campaign.
• Lead event coordination and logistics for coalition-related activities targeting the African American community.
• Support preparation efforts by reviewing, organizing, and distributing materials for coalition events and political communications.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned to support campaign objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in political relationship management, coalition building, or constituency organizing.
• Established connections with African American community leaders and elected representatives in New York City.
• Flexibility to work during non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic with keen attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple projects efficiently.
• Excellent organizational skills along with proficient oral and written communication capabilities.
• Capacity to use discretion and exercise independent judgment when required.

Additional Information

• Location: Manhattan, New York
• Supervisor: Reports to the Coalitions Director
• Starting salary: $6,500 per month
