Role Overview
The Academic Counsellor will support customer acquisition and revenue growth by guiding prospective students through the admission journey and helping them choose the right program.
Responsibilities
This role combines inside sales, counselling, and admission support. You will work with inbound leads as well as outbound calling and email outreach to create sales opportunities and convert them into admissions.
- Identify and develop new opportunities through lead follow-up, cold calling, and email outreach.
- Drive student admissions and work toward assigned targets.
- Understand each customer’s needs and recommend the most suitable program.
- Close sales and meet quarterly quota expectations.
- Speak with students and parents, providing counselling and guidance throughout the process.
- Support students individually with course selection, application submission, and deadline tracking.
- Help applicants gather the documents required for admission.
- Share admission criteria, enrolment steps, and related procedures with students, parents, and guardians.
- Manage applications and communication with parents in a structured and efficient way.
Requirements
- You should be able to connect with students and parents with empathy and build trust through conversation.
- A strong preference for working in a sales environment driven by targets and conversions is needed.
- Proven ability to turn leads into successful sales is important.
- Prior experience using a CRM system is required.
- Excellent English and Hindi communication skills are mandatory.
- Strong listening ability and presentation skills are expected.
- The position is based in MG Road, Bengaluru.
- The workweek is 6 days.
