Position Summary
The Workshop Supervisor plays a crucial role in organizing and managing all workshop-related activities to guarantee safe, efficient, and top-quality assembly, maintenance, and production operations of drilling and completion tools. This position involves leading personnel, overseeing production timelines, managing equipment and materials, and driving continuous improvements in alignment with company standards and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute workshop production schedules to ensure punctual and effective completion of tasks.
- Direct and coordinate daily workshop staff activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Maintain workshop premises in a clean, orderly manner while adhering strictly to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) as well as quality standards.
- Manage workshop equipment and tools, including scheduling maintenance, calibration, and repairs to guarantee operational readiness.
- Supervise material handling, control inventory, and maintain documentation to support continuous production and field operations.
- Monitor workflows to detect bottlenecks, implementing strategic process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure that all drilling and completion tools are thoroughly inspected and tested before deployment to the field.
- Conduct training and performance assessments of workshop personnel to boost technical skills and foster teamwork.
- Compile and submit regular reports on production progress, equipment conditions, and material usage.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by leadership or management.
Qualifications
- Possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Have at least 10 years of experience in oilfield workshop operations or mechanical manufacturing, including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of drilling and completion tools, mechanical systems, and workshop operations.
- Skilled in production planning, equipment upkeep, and material management.
- Solid understanding of HSE and Quality Assurance/Quality Control systems and standards.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with workshop management software.
- Committed to responsibility, safety consciousness, and ongoing process enhancement.
