Vocational Instructor

Role Overview

As a Vocational Instructor in this hybrid role, you will apply your technical knowledge to deliver instruction and be instrumental in creating and updating vocational course materials that enhance the learner's experience. You will create compelling and interactive technical course content, support General Engineering and specialty teams, and provide instruction on diverse vocational topics.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of training modules as part of the Vocational Training Program, assessing learners based on the current assessment strategy, potentially assessing beyond trade boundaries to maintain impartiality.
• Play a key role in imparting quality vocational training to students enrolled in short courses, particularly focusing on general engineering, specialty courses, and other contracted modules.
• Facilitate student engagement, understanding, and skill building through adaptive teaching tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Continuously improve teaching resources and methods to optimize learning results.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to ensure accurate, relevant, and current content delivery.
• Develop and update instructional materials including lesson plans, presentations, and assessments to boost learner interaction.
• Apply contemporary teaching approaches and technological tools to create interactive and dynamic educational experiences.
• Collaborate with instructional staff to incorporate feedback and advance course quality.
• Provide constructive guidance to students to help them achieve learning objectives.
• Create and uphold a supportive and inclusive educational atmosphere.
• Partner with colleagues and stakeholders to continuously refine course offerings, teaching techniques, and evaluation methods.
• Keep abreast of industry developments, educational advances, and best practices to inform teaching content and strategies.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructor skills and knowledge.
• Maintain compliance with vocational education regulations and quality standards.

Expectations and Requirements

• Possess a degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience as a vocational instructor or similar capacity, preferably within engineering or technical education fields.
• Skilled in instructional design, capable of preparing effective teaching materials and assessments aligned with standards.
• Current with modern pedagogic methods and educational technology applications.
• Strong communicator with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
• Dedicated to ongoing enhancement of teaching effectiveness and learner outcomes.

• Experience applying training design following the BSAT/DSAT model.
