VIE Design Engineer - Corrosion & Technical Services

Freyssinet Australia invites motivated engineering graduates or early career engineers to join as a VIE Design Engineer within our Corrosion & Technical Services Team. This role offers an exceptional chance to gain global experience working on pioneering infrastructure remediation, corrosion protection, and asset preservation projects nationwide.

Role Description

Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, you will assist in designing corrosion mitigation and asset protection solutions across diverse infrastructure projects. This position provides valuable exposure to technical design, project engineering, site evaluations, and client collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the creation and development of corrosion protection and structural remediation designs.
• Develop engineering calculations, produce technical documentation including reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Participate in condition assessments and inspections of existing infrastructure to inform technical investigations.
• Work closely with construction, project management, and technical teams to formulate feasible engineering solutions.
• Contribute to project planning, method development, and preparation of technical documentation.
• Ensure all designs comply with Australian Standards and project-specific requirements.
• Engage in site inspections and visits when needed.
• Promote ongoing improvement and technological advancement within the engineering practice.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a degree in Civil, Structural, Materials, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field.
• Eligible to participate in the VIE (Volontariat International en Entreprise) program.
• Demonstrates passion for infrastructure durability, corrosion engineering, structural remediation, and asset management.
• Strong analytical thinking and proficient problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and engineering design software is preferred.
• Adaptable, enthusiastic, and motivated to pursue an international engineering career.
