Role Overview
Charles Trent Ltd in Poole is seeking a dedicated individual passionate about automobiles and mechanical work to join their production line team. The primary responsibility involves dismantling vehicles that have reached the end of their life. This includes removing quality components and ensuring that materials are safely recycled, contributing to an efficient, sustainable, and dynamic work environment.
Key Duties
- Operate on a swing shift schedule of 42.5 hours weekly (Monday to Friday), alternating between 6:00 am - 3:00 pm one week and 3:00 pm - 12:00 am the next.
- Adhere strictly to safety, quality, and environmental protocols throughout the dismantling process.
- Systematically remove and prepare valuable parts for resale and reuse.
- Disassemble doors, windows/glass, interior and exterior vehicle parts, suspension systems, powertrains, and dashboards.
- Extract and sort materials to facilitate effective recycling.
- Separate waste materials into appropriate recycling channels.
- Meet daily dismantling targets and actively support smooth team operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrable enthusiasm for cars and mechanical repair.
- Possess a Level 2 or 3 qualification in vehicle mechanics or equivalent practical experience.
- Exemplify teamwork and possess strong communication abilities.
- Work methodically, safely, and with efficiency.
- Display a problem-solving approach coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Be confident using both hand and power tools.
- Possess a solid understanding of dismantling methods and mechanical systems.
