Utility Worker

Overview

The position involves performing a range of custodial, groundskeeping, mechanical, basic electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance and repair tasks as assigned within Lodi High School.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute general maintenance and repairs on district furniture, buildings, fixtures, and facilities.
• Operate hand and power tools, equipment used in maintenance, cleaning, and preservation.
• Maintain classrooms, offices, and school facilities in a clean, safe, and secure manner.
• Arrange and move furniture and equipment to support meetings and special events.
• Identify and report safety hazards and requirements for repairs or maintenance.
• Keep routine records and meet designated schedules and timeframes.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and directions effectively.
• Work cooperatively within a team environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Knowledge of general maintenance methods, cleaning materials, disinfectants, and equipment.
• Ability to perform minor repairs, operate tools, maintain safe conditions, and follow instructions.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or higher education degrees such as Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
• Valid California driver's license is required.
• Successful candidates must undergo tuberculosis testing and fingerprinting if from out-of-district.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam, which is paid by the district.
• Potential practical skills test during interview.
