Role Overview

The Transport Officer position is a full-time role based in Surat, responsible for managing daily transport operations for the school. Duties include planning efficient bus routes, scheduling pick-ups and drop-offs, ensuring safety compliance and regulatory adherence, overseeing vehicle upkeep, maintaining transport documentation, and liaising with drivers, vendors, school personnel, and families to resolve transport-related issues promptly. This role also requires managing incident reports, coordinating emergency responses, and introducing process improvements to boost efficiency and safeguard students.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Expertise in transportation and logistics management to handle route planning, scheduling, and student mobility safely.
• Experience with shipping, procurement, vendor coordination, contract management, and resource availability.
• Strong customer service aptitude for effective communication with parents, students, drivers, and staff, ensuring resolution of transportation concerns.
• Capability to maintain detailed records, comply with local transport laws, and implement safety standards.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and transport management software for operational planning and reporting.
• Prior involvement with school transport or fleet management is advantageous.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in logistics, administration, or related disciplines is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and ability to perform under tight timelines.
