Job description
Overview
You will become part of the Static Data team within the Enterprise Software Systems group, tasked with the management and support of reference data utilized by Susquehanna’s trading systems. This is a role directly engaging with production to guarantee the precision, accessibility, and consistency of trading data used across front office, post-trade, and quantitative platforms.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as the initial support contact for issues related to trading reference data.
- Diagnose and fix data discrepancies affecting trading functions and downstream applications.
- Hold accountability for data quality, ensuring correctness in all environments.
- Grasp and control the consequences of data modifications on trading operations.
- Manage and maintain instrument definitions, pricing data, and corporate actions.
- Validate and supervise data supplied by external sources such as Bloomberg and exchanges.
- Guarantee uniformity and accuracy of data across all platforms.
- Onboard new trading venues, brokers, and financial instruments efficiently.
- Analyze and adapt to vendor and exchange updates including symbology, tick sizes, and trading regulations.
- Collaborate with development teams to coordinate updates and ensure seamless implementation.
- Work closely with traders, operations staff, and developers to facilitate trading activities.
- Effectively communicate about data issues, changes, and their impact.
- Provide expert advice on reference data behavior and system requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of five years’ experience within financial services, trading support, or roles handling reference data.
- Deep understanding of financial instruments and trading operations.
- Practical knowledge of SQL and/or Python for database querying and management.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, managing high volumes of data changes effectively.
- Experience with market data providers like Bloomberg and Exchanges.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities suitable for a production environment.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling effective cross-team collaboration.
