Role overview
Attuned Healthcare is a values-led provider focused on trauma-informed, community-based support for children, young people, and families. The organisation is growing its residential services in Carlow Town and nearby areas, and is hiring Support Workers / HCAs to join the team.
The role is centered on person-focused care within a small residential setting, helping individuals build independence, maintain dignity, and work toward meaningful daily goals.
What the role involves
- Deliver tailored support that reflects each person’s individual needs, with an emphasis on independence, self-care, and community inclusion.
- Work alongside service users to identify, review, and progress personal goals.
- Assist with everyday living tasks while promoting dignity, choice, and autonomy.
- Encourage the growth of practical life skills and self-confidence.
- Keep clear and accurate records and contribute to individual support plans.
- Use reflective practice to improve the quality of care and support.
- Take part in supervision, training, and team activities that strengthen service delivery.

Candidate profile and requirements

- Minimum FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support, Social Care, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong communication skills in English, plus good IT, report writing, and planning ability.
- Full, clean driving licence is required.
- Subject to Garda Vetting.
- Ability to provide two references.
- Must already have the legal right to work in Ireland; sponsorship is not available.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and best practice.
- Ability to perform well in a busy, changing environment.
Accepted qualifications
- QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support.
- Pre-Nursing Studies.
- Professional Qualification in Teaching, excluding TEFL.
- Family Support Practitioner qualification at minimum Level 6 NFQ.
- Or another nationally recognised qualification in social care, childcare, family support, or education.

Additional information
This position is available as a permanent role and can be full-time or part-time. The salary offered is between €29,406 and €32,448, depending on experience.
