About the Role
Michelin is seeking a Support Engineer to provide critical operational support for data pipelines and platforms. This full-time, onsite role based in Pune Division, Maharashtra involves ensuring data availability, quality, and system reliability through effective monitoring, incident management, and collaboration with engineering and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Deliver L2 support for ETL processes, data pipelines, and overall data platforms to maintain optimal operations.
- Continuously monitor workflows to guarantee data accuracy, timely processing, and availability.
- Handle and resolve production incidents including data failures and performance-related issues promptly.
- Develop and oversee monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to improve reliability and detect issues proactively.
- Define and measure Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Objectives (SLOs) to maintain high operational standards.
- Conduct root cause analyses for data disruptions and system outages and resolve incidents within the established SLA.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to implement permanent solutions and improve system robustness.
- Maintain data quality by enforcing integrity checks, consistency standards, and automated validation frameworks.
- Support adherence to data governance policies and security protocols.
- Act as a liaison among data engineering, business intelligence, and business stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and resolve data issues.
- Identify and drive automation opportunities to reduce manual intervention and optimize processes, contributing to Data Driven Engineering and automation initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Bachelor's or Master's level).
- Proven hands-on experience with data pipelines (ETL/ELT), SQL querying, and cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Grafana, or Splunk.
- Experience with data platforms including Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of databases such as SQL Server and Snowflake or equivalents.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, SQL, or shell scripting.
- Experience using Business Intelligence tools, notably Power BI.
- Optional experience with DataIKU is advantageous.
