Role Overview
As a Student Admissions Advisor (SAA) reporting to both the Lead Student Admissions Advisor and Director of Student Admissions, you will serve as the initial point of contact for prospective students, shaping their first impression of the college. This role demands professional, prompt, and respectful communication coupled with proactive outreach through outbound calls to engage interested individuals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Recruit and engage qualified candidates for academic programs following all compliance and professionalism standards.
- Respond swiftly to prospective students who express interest, guiding them through admissions and enrollment processes.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, governmental regulations, and program prerequisites before students begin their courses, including validating English proficiency where required.
- Administer approved entrance assessments for mature student applicants.
- Maintain ongoing support with students before, during, and after admission, including regular check-ins every 10 days up to 45 days after their start date.
- Refer students to appropriate college resources as necessary to aid their success.
- Accurately input and update student data in designated systems for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Assist in smooth handoffs to other departments and participate in auditing student files to confirm complete documentation.
- Stay informed about the latest features of the college’s Learning Management System to enhance student recruitment strategies.
- Contribute to marketing efforts including virtual and in-person campaigns and collaborate with branding partners as needed.
- Participate in additional projects and duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in business administration or related fields is advantageous.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in sales, relationship management, customer service, admissions recruiting, education, or outbound call centre environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills capable of connecting with a diverse population.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced setting to meet deadlines.
- Telephone communication expertise, especially handling high call volumes, is a plus.
- A positive, energetic, and friendly demeanor when interacting with prospective students and colleagues.
- Comfortable using internet-based communication platforms to support virtual engagement.
Compensation & Schedule
Compensation includes a base salary plus commission, with successful advisors potentially earning up to $90,000 annually. The working schedule is from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, operating on a hybrid basis with the Winnipeg campus as the primary location.
