Role Overview
As a Structural Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring construction compliance on large-scale building projects, particularly high-rise residential and commercial developments. This role involves reviewing contract documents, drawings, and specifications, supervising site quality, and monitoring health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and understand contract documentation, detailed drawings, specifications, and safety protocols, including all updates.
- Verify contractor adherence to contract standards using observation, measurements, and testing, and track quality assurance progress.
- Maintain daily records of contractor manpower and equipment deployment.
- Conduct site supervision and inspections as directed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Document contractor personnel, equipment, observed activities, their locations, purposes, and methods within assigned areas.
- Report on material deliveries and implement site instructions issued by leadership.
- Apply and enforce quality control procedures specific to the site.
- Perform site measurements and surveying tasks as required.
- Monitor compliance with quality, performance, and applicable codes through inspection duties.
- Oversee construction health and safety measures, reporting any violations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hands-on site experience related to design, estimation, installation, and activity supervision within structural works on large building projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of structural engineering techniques, appropriate equipment, materials, tools, and labor allocations for construction projects.
- Proficient in reading and executing structural engineering drawings.
- Familiar with regulatory requirements from relevant authorities.
- Experience with high-rise residential and commercial buildings, including project start-up, execution, and handover phases.
