Overview
North East Derbyshire District Council is looking for a Streets Driver / Labourer to join their dedicated Streetscene Team. This role involves general street cleansing and labouring tasks, including operating mechanical sweeping machinery and service vehicles to clear litter and debris from highways and public areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively within a team to maintain a clean and green district.
- Operate primarily from Eckington and Wingerworth facilities, with flexibility to work at other Council sites as needed.
- Carry out litter clearance on highways and surrounding grounds using light powered equipment and power tools.
- Drive specialist vehicles such as mechanical sweepers and commercial vehicles (up to 4.5 tonne g.v.w.).
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in highway litter clearance duties and use of light powered machinery.
- Full clean driving licence including categories B+E and C1.
- Experience handling mechanical sweeping machines and commercial vehicles.
