Role overview

Vestas is hiring a Stock Keeper for its Witberg site in the Northern Cape, South Africa. This role supports wind energy service operations by handling inventory, tools, and materials at the warehouse/service location. The position is central to ensuring the right parts are received, stored, tracked, and made available so technical teams can keep turbines and site operations running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the flow of parts and tools through receiving, storage, and dispatch so day-to-day operations remain uninterrupted.
• Monitor and speed up the movement of urgent materials to help reduce turbine downtime and maintain service continuity.
• Keep stock records accurate by carrying out regular counts and updating ERP systems.
• Work closely with technicians and site leadership to predict material needs, address logistics issues, and support overall team productivity.
• Contribute to a dependable supply chain that supports clean energy delivery to communities.

Qualifications and competencies

• You should be organised, detail-focused, and able to manage your time well.
• A background of 2 to 3 years in warehouse, inventory, or material handling work is required.
• Strong Excel knowledge is expected, along with familiarity with ERP/MRP tools such as SAP or Power BI.
• You must be safety-aware and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to understand spoken and written English and follow instructions in English is required.
• A matric certificate and a valid driver’s licence are required.
• You should be able to work with limited supervision.
• Good verbal and written communication in English is important; knowledge of an additional local language is an advantage.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office applications and SAP ERP is expected.
• Willingness to travel is needed.
