About Trinity Care and Role Overview

Rathborne Nursing Home, a part of the reputable Trinity Care Group and the international DomusVi Group, is seeking to hire a Registered General Nurse to provide compassionate care to elderly residents at their Ashtown, Dublin 15 location. The facility supports work permit transfers.

Essential Requirements

• Effective communication abilities across all organizational levels.
• Sincere interest in working with elderly residents.
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Qualification as a Registered General Nurse.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience or qualifications in elderly care.
• Familiarity with HIQA Standards.
• Previous experience in supervisory roles.

Core Nursing Responsibilities

• Foster a collaborative atmosphere among staff to enhance residents' wellbeing and efficient home operations.
• Identify and report any health concerns in residents, facilitating consultations with GPs or healthcare professionals when needed.
• Create, maintain, and periodically review residents' care plans in discussion with residents, families, and healthcare professionals following NMBI guidelines and organizational policies.
• Assess care needs and deliver direct nursing support as necessary.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and periodic reviews of residents' health and social care status.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping with monthly or more frequent care plan updates.
• Perform regular resident checks and provide comprehensive handovers at shift completion.
• Manage prescription administration and maintain precise medication documentation per company and NMBI standards.
• Uphold the utmost integrity in handling residents' personal and financial matters.

Health and Safety Duties

• Immediately report to Director of Nursing or designated person any infectious illnesses, accidents, or incidents involving residents, colleagues, or oneself.
• Comply with the Nursing Home's Health & Safety, Emergency, and Fire Safety policies.
• Promptly report any defective equipment, damaged furnishings, or hazards.
• Encourage and promote safe working practices throughout the facility.

General Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to NMBI guidelines and professional regulations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and records in line with regulatory and company requirements.
• Respect confidentiality at all times.
• Inform Director of Nursing or Person in Charge promptly of any inability to attend work, following the Employee Handbook procedures.
• Ensure the security of the Nursing Home environment.
• Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of all equipment.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
