Role overview
SITA develops technology and communications solutions that help airports stay operational, airlines run efficiently, and borders remain accessible. The company works across much of the global air transport ecosystem and is known for an inclusive, growth-oriented workplace.
In this position, you will own the Baggage Portfolio solution specialist function and contribute directly to SITA at Airports’ global sales outcomes. The role requires strong knowledge of baggage-related airport and airline technologies, along with the ability to convert customer needs into practical, commercially strong solution proposals.
You will sit between customer insight and technical expertise, helping shape solution and sales strategy through customer journey thinking, design-led problem solving, and proactive engagement. The goal is to support opportunity progression, solution design, pricing, and closure while ensuring offerings are built around real operational requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the main link between regional sales teams and central product management on complex opportunities and new baggage technology solutions.
- Study the target market and recommend pipeline-building priorities.
- Work with sales teams to build account strategies that deepen penetration and strengthen long-term commercial returns.
- Advise regional teams on creating robust solutions while keeping cost structures efficient.
- Capture customer use cases and apply them where they can be reused across opportunities.
- Develop strategic customer proposals from initial engagement through RFP response using a strong understanding of operational challenges and business goals.
- Support customers through the solution-design journey by interpreting pain points, processes, and operating constraints.
- Create and present product demonstrations and solution workshops tailored to the customer’s environment.
- Feed customer insights back to product management so the roadmap reflects real market demand.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Delivery, Pricing, and Operations to build solution proposals together.
- Partner with Sales and Business Development on account planning and market expansion efforts.
- Contribute to pricing strategy and commercial modelling using value-based outcomes.
- Take part in trials, pilots, and proof-of-concept work to show measurable solution impact.
- Share knowledge and best practices with the wider global solution specialist community.
Skills and qualifications
- Strong expertise in airport and airline baggage technologies, including BIMs, BRS, MDS, repatriation systems, and loading systems.
- Good understanding of the region’s customer landscape and effective engagement approaches.
- Clear ownership and accountability for solution outcomes.
- Technical fluency with cloud-based systems, APIs, and integration frameworks.
- Ability to use customer journey mapping and insights to shape solutions that solve pain points and improve satisfaction.
- Experience in customer-focused presales and solution design that improves win rates.
- Design-thinking mindset with the ability to work iteratively on complex problems.
- Comfort handling urgent, high-pressure customer discussions and turning feedback into improvements.
- Capability to work across geographies and functions with Product, Sales, and Engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical features into business value for all stakeholder levels, including executives.
- Commercial and analytical strength for pricing and go-to-market planning.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, Visio, and Word for modelling and storytelling.

- Experience launching and scaling new solutions in the air transport sector.

- Exposure to aviation technology procurement and implementation cycles.
- Familiarity with strategic pricing models and value-based selling.
