The User Profile team is responsible for developing and scaling systems that manage user identities, audience segmentation, and profile data supporting StackAdapt's ad platform. Their challenges include creating distributed systems capable of processing high-throughput data with low latency, ensuring robust real-time targeting, bidding, measurement, and marketing workflows.
The team's technology stack features Golang for backend service performance, Kafka for event streaming, Kubernetes for container orchestration, and distributed data stores such as Redis, ScyllaDB, and TiDB for scalable SQL workloads. Their engineers design resilient, high-availability systems delivering billions of events and profile updates with dependable performance and consistency across profile ingestion, segmentation, and service layers foundational to StackAdapt.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop highly scalable, distributed, real-time microservices predominantly in Go.
- Design systems to ingest, process, and manage large-scale user profile and audience data.
- Utilize event-driven programming leveraging messaging platforms like Kafka.
- Work with distributed databases including ScyllaDB, TiDB, and Redis for storage and retrieval.
- Craft performance-optimized, memory-efficient code ensuring low latency and service reliability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in Product, Machine Learning, Data, and Infrastructure to build core platform features.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum two years of experience as a backend software engineer.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities involving data structures, algorithms, and performance optimizations.
- Background in working with relational and distributed databases or data stores.
- Track record building scalable microservices and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, C++, or comparable modern backend programming languages.
- Passion for designing reliable, scalable systems operating at high performance.
