Software Engineer / System Administrator - Blackboard LMS

Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer and System Administrator with practical expertise in Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position focuses on the development, customization, and system administration of the Blackboard LMS and its integrations with various enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, tailor, and maintain Blackboard LMS and its associated software applications.
• Create and manage integrations between Blackboard and other enterprise systems through APIs and web services.
• Design and sustain custom-built applications, extensions, and automation tools to enhance LMS functionality.
• Manage interfaces with Student Information Systems (SIS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Resources (HR), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), identity management solutions, and third-party learning platforms.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to systems and integrations promptly.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
• Professional experience ranging from 3 to 5 years in relevant roles.
• Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of Blackboard LMS, preferably including Learn Ultra.
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs along with data formats like JSON and XML, and web services.
• Programming skills in Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and standards such as LTI, SCORM, xAPI, SAML, OAuth, and directory services like Active Directory.
