Role Overview

As a backend software engineer at Krea, you will manage the full backend technology stack which includes the SvelteKit application and its associated data layers: Postgres, Redis, and ClickHouse. You will also handle Python services responsible for machine learning inference and maintain Kubernetes clusters spanning multiple cloud and GPU providers. Your responsibilities involve overseeing the entire lifecycle from system design through deployment and ongoing production management.

Current Projects

• Developing robust execution mechanisms for long-running workflows, implementing state machines, idempotency, and retry logic to ensure the accuracy and reliability of multi-step inference jobs that may run for extended periods and experience interruptions.
• Enhancing our public API by designing clear, well-documented interfaces with OpenAPI documentation generated from Zod schemas.
• Implementing essential enterprise features including access control lists, audit logging, user entitlements, and other foundational functionalities required by large organizations.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience owning production systems end-to-end, covering design, monitoring, metrics evaluation, and incident management; ideally with 4 to 8 years of relevant experience, though emphasis is placed on technical breadth and judgment rather than just years of experience.
• Ability to work confidently across the full stack, quickly assimilating unfamiliar codebases, and possessing thoughtful architectural perspectives for scalable systems.
• Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal forms, and the capacity to work autonomously without extensive project management supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GPU infrastructure, Kubernetes operations in production environments, or a background in creative fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
