Software Application Development Apprenticeship - March 2027 Intake

Program Overview

This apprenticeship is designed for individuals who have completed their education and seek to cultivate foundational technical and professional skills in software development. It runs for 12 months and is a part-time, onsite role requiring approximately 40 hours of commitment weekly. Apprentices will integrate with Google teams to gain practical experience while dedicating a portion of their time to tailored external training.

• The program is not a permanent, full-time employment offer but a 12-month learning opportunity.
• Applicants can be recent graduates or individuals with work experience in other fields interested in software development careers.
• During the apprenticeship, apprentices cannot transfer their assigned work location.
• A resume specifying the year of graduation must accompany applications.
• The recruitment and onboarding process spans about 18 to 24 weeks, so applicants should prepare for this timeline.
• No sponsorship for immigration will be provided for this position.

• Applicants can indicate their preferred working location among Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, India.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related area.
• Not currently enrolled in any academic program.
• Less than one year of experience in software application development.
• Programming skills in at least one coding language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Google Workspace or similar productivity tools.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
• Adaptability to learn new programming languages according to project needs, with capability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to manage multiple ambiguous tasks and balance competing priorities, seeking assistance as needed.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills with a self-driven, positive attitude.
• Demonstrated passion for new technologies via personal projects and ongoing learning.

Job Role and Learning Experience

Apprentices will gain hands-on exposure to various functions such as coding, software development, testing, and project management. They will learn how to solve real-world problems, gain proficiency in multiple programming languages, understand software testing standards, and observe software design and development processes within Google.
