Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer to join our team in Gurugram. This is an on-site role requiring a minimum of 7 years in data engineering, specializing in ELT processes and cloud data warehouse technologies. The candidate will lead efforts in designing scalable data pipelines and managing complex data architectures while optimizing performance and ensuring data quality and governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and maintain modular and scalable data transformation workflows utilizing dbt.
• Create and uphold robust dimensional data models such as Star/Snowflake schemas and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCDs) that support scalable core warehouse architecture.
• Enhance performance by optimizing Snowflake or Databricks queries, recognizing bottlenecks, and managing cost efficiency of the data infrastructure.
• Implement rigorous data quality standards including schema and data tests, as well as managing data lineage and detailed documentation via dbt.
• Integrate dbt with version control systems like Git and continuous integration/deployment tools such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps; use orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt Cloud to manage workflows.

Qualifications & Experience

• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in data engineering, focusing on ETL/ELT and data warehousing.
• At least 2-3 years of proficient, hands-on experience with dbt Core or dbt Cloud, including macros, seeds, snapshots, and exposures.
• Expert knowledge of SQL and cloud data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
• Strong programming skills in Python or PySpark.
• Excellent communication abilities and experience operating as a technical lead within agile project teams.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline is mandatory.
