Job Overview
The Site HSE Manager is tasked with leading and managing all health, safety, and environmental efforts at the project location. This role ensures adherence to legal, regulatory, client, and company standards while fostering continuous improvement of the Health, Safety, and Environment Management System (HSEMS). Technical support is provided to project teams to strengthen a proactive safety culture across all site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily HSE activities and supervise adherence to relevant legal, regulatory, client, and project requirements at the site.
- Facilitate the implementation, upkeep, and ongoing enhancement of the HSE Management System within site functions.
- Plan and conduct site HSE inspections, audits, and compliance checks, identifying deficiencies and driving corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop, review, and update essential HSEMS documents including plans, procedures, risk assessments, and work instructions.
- Offer expert HSE advice and assistance to site teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with HSE standards and adoption of industry best practices.
- Coordinate with the Client and relevant parties regarding daily HSE concerns, compliance, performance, and improvement measures.
- Support activities related to meeting regulatory compliance obligations.
- Track HSE performance metrics, discover improvement opportunities, and aid in implementing corrective strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
- Completion of NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or a higher HSE certification.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in HSE roles within high-risk sectors such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Construction, or Industrial environments.
- Proven background in site-based HSE management and supervisory roles.
- Experience with HSE regulatory compliance and interactions with regulatory bodies.
- Strong experience conducting or supporting HSE audits, inspections, and compliance evaluations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HSE Management Systems, pertinent regulations, and accepted industry standards.
