Role Purpose

This role was created to bring judgment and expertise to recruiting rather than just process management. Unlike typical first recruiting hires focused mainly on coordination and sourcing, this position demands discerning candidate evaluation and provides real leverage by building and owning the entire recruiting process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruiting across all departments, including go-to-market, engineering/product, and operations.
  • Create and maintain the recruiting operating system from ground up — incorporating ATS, interview structures, scorecards, and sourcing channels rather than inheriting existing frameworks.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership (CEO/COO) and hiring managers to define roles and establish the hiring standards.
  • Track meaningful hiring metrics such as time-to-fill, pipeline conversion rates, and quality of hire to guide decisions.
  • Enhance candidate experience and build a strong employer brand that reflects the company's culture and values.

Candidate Assessment Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to independently assess candidates with evidence-based judgment. Candidates will be tested by reviewing anonymized profiles and matching their evaluations against hiring outcomes.
  • Exceptional sourcing skills, including deep knowledge of networks where top talent resides and the ability to initiate conversations with passive candidates beyond common platforms.
