Senior Litigation Counsel, EMEA

About the Role

Join TikTok's Global Litigation Team, which plays a crucial role in supporting TikTok and its related products by providing integrated legal advice that drives innovation and supports business goals. The team manages significant litigation and disputes worldwide, focusing on delivering high-quality legal guidance.

We are looking for an experienced Litigation Counsel to lead litigation efforts for the EMEA region. Reporting to the Head of Litigation, EMEA and AMA, this role entails managing litigation cases independently across all stages, exercising sound judgment and strategic thinking in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The candidate will collaborate closely with legal and business stakeholders, understanding complex technical and product-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general litigation support focusing on European matters, including handling claims before litigation and related activities.
• Oversee all litigation processes such as pre-action correspondence, electronic discovery, fact-finding, witness preparation, drafting legal documents, managing case conferences, interim motions, alternative dispute resolution, and trial preparations.
• Supervise and collaborate with external counsel to ensure the highest quality legal representation, including strategy development, written submissions, and oral advocacy.
• Independently deliver complex legal advice and work products to clients with minimal supervision, covering contracts, investigations, and litigation responses.
• Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, aligning litigation and regulatory strategies with the company's objectives.
• Exhibit a deep understanding of applicable laws, skillfully interpret and apply legal principles to various matters.
• Identify and assess legal risks in business contexts, engage outside counsel and stakeholders when necessary, and provide well-informed recommendations, including in uncertain scenarios.
• Lead complex legal issues with autonomy and accountability, balancing business and legal considerations to deliver risk-based counsel.
• Keep the broader regional litigation team updated on legal and regulatory developments and mentor junior litigation team members.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated extensive litigation management experience within Europe.
• Qualified as a lawyer in one or more jurisdictions where TikTok operates.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork orientation, capable of engaging effectively at all organizational levels.
