China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) operates in Abu Dhabi, specializing in large-scale construction projects.
Role Overview
The Senior Estimator / Senior Quantity Surveyor role focuses on pre-contract activities encompassing cost estimation and tender preparation for construction assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop precise cost projections, tender pricing, and bid documents for construction projects.
- Examine tender documents, architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and contract terms.
- Perform quantity calculations and conduct detailed cost analyses covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted services.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and project teams throughout the tendering phase.
- Request, collect, and assess quotations submitted by suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identify potential risks, suggest value engineering solutions, and propose methods to reduce expenses.
- Prepare clarifications for tenders, commercial bids, and all relevant supporting paperwork.
- Maintain databases of historical costs and track pricing trends within the market.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related disciplines.
- At least 10 years of overall experience in the construction sector.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience specifically in the UAE as a Tender Estimator.
- Demonstrated proficiency with projects involving high-rise buildings, housing developments, residential developments, and villas.
- Strong skills in cost estimation, preparing tenders, quantity calculations, and bid evaluation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and typical market rates.
- Experienced in producing competitive tenders for projects in both public and private sectors.
- Proficient with estimation software, Microsoft Excel, and quantity take-off applications.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and commercial assessment capabilities.
- Possession of a RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) certification is a beneficial asset.
