About the Team
The Risk Governance Team is dedicated to identifying and mitigating unsafe advertisements while enhancing our risk management platform using AI-driven governance tools. Our mission is to maintain TikTok as a secure, positive, and welcoming space for all users through efficient and scalable operational processes.
Role Overview
This position involves developing comprehensive risk control strategies for TikTok’s Commercial Ads. The role encompasses managing risks related to content safety, user behavior, advertiser credibility, and various aspects that may adversely affect user experience. It relies on multiple inputs including ad content, historical and real-time data, expert and public insights, legal frameworks, as well as AI and LLM-supported analysis workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate critical risks, emergencies, and challenges; devise and implement operational risk control plans balancing revenue goals with risk mitigation.
- Conduct diagnosis of risk metrics by attributing changes, measuring risk feature effectiveness, and uncovering scalable governance solutions.
- Innovate, develop, and refine AI/Agent-assisted workflows such as automated risk detection, evidence extraction, case prioritization, policy analysis, anomaly surveillance, and strategic recommendations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to convert governance requirements into intelligent risk platforms, AI-enabled tools, processes, and mechanisms.
- Establish evaluation standards and feedback loops focusing on accuracy, recall, operational efficiency, and overall business impact of AI-powered governance solutions.
- Continuously build and apply risk reduction capabilities to enhance the precision, scalability, and automation of commercial ads risk governance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related quantitative disciplines.
- At least 1 year experience in internet industry risk management areas like content risk, account risk, ads integrity, fraud prevention, or user experience risk, with strong risk awareness and quick response skills.
- Proficient in data-driven operational analysis using SQL and/or Python to identify issues, assess strategies, and support decisions.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM technologies, including prompt engineering, AI-assisted analytical workflows, automation, agent-based tools, or human-in-the-loop review systems.
- Capability to decompose complex risk issues into organized analytical frameworks, operational procedures, and solution products.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to efficiently advance cross-departmental projects.
- High proficiency in written and spoken Mandarin to liaise effectively with Chinese-speaking teams and clients, especially in external sales contexts.
Preferred Experience
- Background in business integrity, commercial risk strategy, ads safety, platform governance, fraud prevention, or trust and safety operations.
- Hands-on experience creating or extensively utilizing AI agents, LLM-based workflows, retrieval-augmented generation systems, prompt evaluation setups, AI-aided review tools, or operational automation applications.
- Collaboration with engineering or data science teams to build AI-driven internal products such as risk platforms, decision engines, investigation tools, or reviewer productivity enhancements.
- Understanding of model evaluation, taxonomy design for risks, policy analysis, multimodal content review, automated investigation flows, or managing large-scale content review operations is a significant advantage.
- Strong initiative and curiosity about emerging AI capabilities with a focus on improving governance quality, speed, and scalability.
