  • Keep management informed of project progress, highlighting major risks or non-compliance.
  • Evaluate and qualify companies involved in certification programs, auditing test methods, product designs, and documentation for compliance.
  • Ensure testing equipment and procedures meet established guidelines, provide technical briefings, and authorize CSA Mark applications or removals.
  • Collaborate with technical advisors and certification specialists for consistency in certification practices and guidance.
  • Offer technical support to internal and external customers, including design stage consultations, while safeguarding confidentiality.
  • Support sales efforts to strengthen client relationships and develop new business avenues.
  • Prepare project cost and time quotations, classify products based on usage and functionality, determine testing requirements and appropriate locations for evaluation.
  • Communicate client feedback to relevant stakeholders and explain certification programs and production control requirements to customers.
  • Operate within defined laboratory quality guidelines and prepare detailed work orders and testing documentation specifying standards, sampling plans, data collection methods, and safety analyses.
  • Guide lab technicians to ensure correct application of testing protocols and data gathering consistent with requirements.
  • Conduct field visits and witness testing at manufacturers’ sites when necessary.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of relevant standards clauses and testing methodologies across multiple product types.
  • Compile evaluation records, summaries, and forms independently, interpreting test outcomes with minimal oversight.
  • Participate in internal audits assessing compliance and competence, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and propose new programs or laboratory equipment enhancements.
  • Recommend procedural changes to harmonize technical practices and resolve issues based on research into standards and technical literature.
  • Effectively communicate standards knowledge and engage in other duties as assigned by leadership.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
