Job Overview

As a Repertory Representative based in ASCAP's New York office, you will be responsible for accurate research, updating, and reconciliation of the musical repertory to ensure members and affiliated foreign parties receive proper royalty payments quarterly. You will report to the Repertory Team Leader and be part of the Repertory Department, collaborating to maintain the quality and accuracy of ASCAP's work database.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and update records following thorough quality reviews of works upon their first performance.
• Handle member inquiries by processing work updates, resolving registration issues, and submitting necessary royalty adjustments.
• Respond promptly and according to department guidelines to phone and email inquiries related to repertory work.
• Engage in quality control activities and recommend procedural improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as compiling team totals, organizing meetings, documenting minutes, and supporting onboarding of new team members.
• Occasionally provide support beyond standard duties to contribute to overall team excellence.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience is acceptable.
• At least one year of relevant professional experience.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
• Ability to follow detailed written instructions for resolving copyright-related questions and escalate complex issues appropriately.
• Strong customer service orientation in handling work and communications.
• Basic math skills for processing data and royalties.
• Capability to utilize ASCAP's data systems along with problem-solving skills to address various inquiries.
• Consistently professional communication skills in written and verbal formats.
• A keen interest in music, music licensing, or the music business is highly desirable.
• Work arrangement requires presence at the office at least one day weekly.
