Role Overview
We are currently looking for a seasoned and meticulous QC Engineer specializing in material quality to join our road infrastructure project team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related technical fields.
- At least 5 to 8 years of professional experience in quality control and materials inspection focused on substantial infrastructure projects like highways, bridges, or transportation systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction materials such as asphalt, concrete, aggregates, soil, structural steel, and pavement materials.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory testing procedures, material approval processes, and compliance verification.
- Familiarity with international standards including ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and EN.
- Proven ability in managing material inspection requests, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and quality documentation maintenance.
- Skilled in reviewing technical specifications, test documentation, and supplier certificates.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication aptitude.
- Proficiency in English with excellent oral and written skills.
- Experience working on projects in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, is an advantage.
Core Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee material quality control procedures conforming to project quality plans, specifications, and international benchmarks.
- Assess and endorse material submittals, technical datasheets, certifications, and supplier documents.
- Conduct inspections of incoming materials to ensure alignment with approved specifications and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate laboratory testing for various construction materials including soils, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and steel components.
- Analyze test outcomes and confirm adherence to relevant standards such as ASTM, AASHTO, and BS.
- Supervise material sampling, testing, and inspection at all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Prepare reports related to material inspections and non-conformances and track corrective actions effectively.
- Engage with consultants, subcontractors, laboratories, and suppliers regarding quality assurance and control concerns.
- Maintain comprehensive quality records, test certificates, approvals, and documentation in compliance with project needs.
- Assist in quality audits and contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts.
- Ensure that all construction materials employed onsite meet the required quality standards prior to use.
